Job Summary

Dat Moi Market is looking for a skilled BUTCHER to cut, trim, and prepare a wide range of meats tailored to customer needs and the market's quality standards. The butcher is expected to maintain product quality, uphold hygiene and safety practices, and deliver excellent customer service by offering recommendations and/or fulfilling custom meat cutting orders.

Responsibilities & Duties

1. Coordinating and finalizing orders with suppliers.

2. Inspect all incoming meat products, conducting quality checks and storing products according to food safety regulations.

3. Skillfully cut, trim, and portion various meats according to customer preferences while adhering to store guidelines.

4. Weigh, portion, wrap, and label products for both self-service cases and custom orders.

5. Monitor and maintain optimal storage conditions under proper temperature-controlled conditions to maintain quality and safety.

6. Set-up and/or breakdown personal workstation including: knives, scissors, cutting boards, bandsaw, grinder, white buckets, yellow buckets (apron, shirt, towels), etc.

7. Routinely clean and disinfect all tools, equipment, and workspaces to meet health code guidelines.

8. Use all equipment such as the freezer trailer and forklift according to Dat Moi guidelines.

9. Immediately report all life safety and fire hazards, violations of company policy, and all accidents and injuries to store leadership.

10. Adhere strictly to all food safety measures and sanitation practices in accordance with public health requirements.

Skills & Qualifications

1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Relevant Work Experience: Previous butcher role, food preparation, or meat cutting experience.

3. Certification: ServSafe, Forklift Operator

4. Essential Functions:

Excellent customer service abilities

Basic math skills and attention to detail

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and managing tasks efficiently.

Must be capable of operating hand tools, work in cold environments, and remain on their feet for extended periods.

Knowledge of meat preparation methods and cut variations.

Be able to lift up to 50lbs

Willingness to work beyond the 40 hours

Benefits

Base Salary: $25.00 an hour
